June 23, 2007, I was chosen as Miss Tennessee. I realized quickly that with this incredible opportunity comes great responsibility, and Graceful Sounds was my chance to make a difference. As a doctoral student of Audiology at Vanderbilt University, I have seen the needs of the hearing impaired children of Tennessee and the healing power of music therapy first-hand. The first four months of my time as Miss Tennessee were spent working to achieve 501(c)3 status for this organization. Since then, we’ve been collecting tax-deductible donations and working to assist as many children as possible! This program has unlimited potential and each donation helps!
